If you didn’t catch this before, here is why Fibalon Filter Minions are superior: ‍ ‍Here is the Reason, the How & Why, the Holy Grail, the #1 thing to know and remember. This new technology in filtering spa & pool water works vastly differently than sand, cartridges & DE. The difference is in the term Deep Zone 3-Dimensional Filtration. Sand is deep but only the top few inches trap some crud, while a cartridge only uses its single layer surface. We trap crud deep into the core of every filter ball, and it takes a long, long time to fill up every ball in every pouch.

Just FYI….Filter Minions by Fibalon Started in Olympic Pools in Germany in 2012, then every other smaller pool including private spas in resorts World Wide, hopefully now in your home too.

They Work in Every Spa, Hot Tub, Summer Splash Pool, Year’Round Above Ground and In-Ground Pools….including Olympic Pools

The science behind how they’re made and why they work, makes it impossible for them to not filter better than what you use today.

There are Two Cartridge ‘Chamber’ Configurations:

Cartridge chambers are either ENCLOSED CYLINDERS (non threaded cartridges)

or OPEN CHAMBERS with extra space (threaded cartridges). Which do you have?

Your spa either has 1 or 2 Confined Cylindrical Chambers (usually non threaded cartridges….

…Or an Open Bay Chamber (need threaded cartridges to stay in place)

Spas with ENCLOSED CYLINDRICAL CARTRIDGE CHAMBERS

Dry Pouches are roughly 5” wide X 8” tall

6” diameter chambers call for placing the pouches vertically. Pouches are approximately 8” tall X 5” wide, so roughly match the height of your existing cartridge

8” diameter chambers call for placing the pouches horizontally and side by side in layers, so an 18” cartridge would be approximately four layers, totalling eight pouches

Whether single or double, insert pouch(es) as seen. A plastic grid is included with pouch(es) to separate pouch from pump port)

1 Pouch for 8”-10” tall cartridges

2 Pouch for 12”-15” tall cartridges

3 Pouch for 20” tall cartridges

4 Pouch for 8” diameter cartridges 10” tall (approx)

Bag of 8 Pouches is normally for pools, but 8” x 20” chambers may require a bag.

For OPEN BAY CHAMBERS (threaded cartridges)

Open chambers like this (jacuzzi & others), use threaded cartridges to hold in place.

The incredible INFINITY CARTRIDGE threads into the same port holes as a standard cartridge. It comes with multiple thread sizes to fit any exit port. Inside is a Filter Minion 1 Pouch

12” tall threaded cartridge next to Infinity Cartridge w/ adapters

1 Infinity Cartridge includes 1 Filter Minion Pouch. Outlasts at least 6-10 cartridge life spans

The Infinity Cartridge replaces standard cartridges up to 20”

Infinity vs Cartridge size. The Infinity Cartridge filters finer & faster even though smaller in height. The square footage of a cartridge cannot compare to super fine filaments that trap to the core of each ball

Replace these two cartridges with 2 Infinity Filters. Pouches included

Ready to screw into place

Simple to remove for cleaning. Occasionally soak in TSP or Cascade Dishwasher Granules if overly oily

*For Smaller Above-Ground Pools:

Your smaller Intex or Bestway pool likely came with pump & filter Cartridge housings that look like one of these

RULE of THUMB: With so many filter tank models & sizes, just measure & roughly match your cartridge size or empty chamber to determine 1-Pouch or 2-Pouches. It’s possible that chambers slightly larger take the 3-Pouch. The goal is simple, have enough pouches to touch on all sides and fill the chamber near the top, without over-stuffing.

Type III, A or C

Type IV, B

Its good to protect the laterals with a layer of light gravel over them, then add the pouches

Easy to install & remove for cleaning

SAND FILTER? A slightly larger pool may have come with a Sand Filter Tank, or perhaps you bought one after starting with the smaller ones above.

Small Sand Filters can be 12”-18” diameter and measured by pounds of sand within. Know that each Pouch is equal to 6 lbs or sand.

If we use a 20 lb sand filter tank as an example, would likely equate to 3 or 4 Pouches depending on the shape of the tank.

So a full Bag (8 pouches) = 50 lbs of sa

For Larger Above-Ground Pools

Scroll to either Sand Filter, or Cartridges/DE

Sand is cheaper but heavy, only filters on its surface inches, which means backwashing into your garden. More and more cities are labeling that water as toxic waste

Remember the Holy Grail & Logic of Why to use our Fibalon Filter Minion Pouches…

The world had been stuck since the 1950’s on Sand, then a little later Cartridges, more recently DE but that’s already on its decline because of its cleaning hassles, cost, and the cancer concern.

Science & engineering in Germany developed Deep Zone 3-Dimensional Filtration. Technically, it means ‘allow water to move through an appropriate depth of super-finely spun fibers that can’t help but trap nearly everything, and let the fibrous balls allow crud to collect deep into the core of each ball’. Nothing else can say or match that modern innovation, which is now 15 years old in Europe, and now in the US as Fibalon Filter Minions.

Sand Filters are measured by pounds of sand within. Know that each Pouch is equal to 6 lbs or sand.

So a full Bag (8 pouches) = 50 lbs of sand

The 4 Pouch = 25 lbs of sand

Cartridge tanks are better but not by enough…..

Sand filter tanks are actually the easiest to convert over to Fibalon pouches once the sand is removed. Just cover the laterals with gravel to pretect them, add about 18” of pouch depth (our Rope is 8 Pouches), and you’re done. Layer to spiral pouches to eliminate any fist sized gaps.

Order by the Box

Know that 1 Bag of Rope = just under 1 cubic foot (one bag almost fills a 5 gallon bucket)

Depending on pool use, average cleaning cycle is 1 year. Just hose them off

Or reach out to discuss

Email to: charlie@allpacificsales.com or call 888 225-8336

The goal is to layer the Rope in spirals to a finished height/depth of 14”-18”

How much to order? Either use math or a Good Comparison

Cleaning cartridges is a messy chore all too often. Pouches can go over a year before rinsing because they hold so much pool crud

Layer the attached pouches to 16” to 18” deep

1 box holds 6 bags (of Rope). A Pentair 320 tank needs only 4 bags. All 6 bags = 300 lbs of Sand

Order by the Bag

1 bag of 8 attached pouches is called a Rope.

Cartridge tanks and cartridges are rated in square feet. A Pentair 320 tank takes cartridges that total 320 sq feet of fabric on its 4 cartridges, so 80 sq feet per cartridge

The conversion to our pouches is much simpler. Just layer the pouches to a height/depth of 16” to 20” for any tank and any pool. When water runs through 16” of pouches, the super fine spun fibers of each ball filter/trap most everything, far more than a cartridge or sand.

So all we need to do is figure out how many bags you need, which is determined by the diameter of your tank, and its height. ‍ ‍

Two ways to calculate:

For those who like math: determine your tank’s cubic footage with the volume equation of: 3.14 x radius squared x height (just fill to 18’ height) So example 3.14 × 100 (10×10 radius) × 20” height = 3.63 cu ft. Know that 1 bag of Rope is roughly 1 cubic foot (its actually .80 cu ft). So you’d need around 4 bags of Rope

If math is not your thing: just imagine a standard 5 gallon bucket which is 12” across (diameter) and 14” tall. 1 bag of Rope fills it to the 12” deep level. So just eyeball your need compared to your tank. If you’re short, order another bag. If you order too much, you have spares in case your dog eats a Rope, or consider the idea of rotating Rope and clean when you please.

A common tank example: This is a Pentair 320 tank. The bottom half is approx 20” tall with 20” diameter, which is about 3.6 cubic feet. One Rope is approx 1 cubic foot, so 4 Ropes fill the just over your 18” goal, but 3 bags would clean your pool anyway.

Don’t bother cleaning pouches for roughly a year..depending on pool use

For In-Ground Pools of Any Size

From Olympic sized pools to quaint back yard escapes, our pouches work in Sand, Cartridge & DE filter tanks

The life of sand as you’ve known it….

Off to Depot for pool sand, backwash polluted water into your garden, eventually replace the sand, back to Depot, but no more of that!!
